MY APPROACH: SCIENTIFIC AND HOLISTIC
 

My vision of Mental Health is one of Wellness and my approach to Therapy is both Scientific and Holistic which means it is based on scientific research and it encompasses the Mind, Body and Spirit.

Progress in neuroscience has led us to realize how our brain influences our behavior and subsequently our interpersonal relations. This knowledge plays an important role in empowering us to create new patterns of behavior and establish positive changes in our lives.

It has long been recognized that the addition of psychotherapy or professional counseling to a patient’s treatment regimen is associated with greater benefit and better outcome than

medication therapy alone.

 

BODY

-nutrition/diet

A well balanced diet is essential to our mental health and recent evidence suggests that there are many mental health conditions that are impacted by our everyday nutrition.

Studies have shown that people who exercise have increased levels of endorphins which help to lower depression rates and stabilize mood.

 

SPIRIT

-meditation

-relaxation

Meditation has been found to promote healing, decrease anxiety, improve emotional stability and reduce stress.

Relaxation techniques have been recognized to reduce anxiety, prevent accumulation of stress, increase energy level, improve concentration and memory and reduce insomnia among other benefits.
