One on one Psychotherapy is the ultimate communication between the therapist and the client.
I offer individual therapy to children and adults to address a broad range of issues some of which are listed below:
-
Depression
-
Anxiety
-
Grief/Loss
-

-
ADHD
-
Relationship problems
-
PTSD
-
Chronic Medical Illness such as AIDS/HIV
I use a combination of therapeutic techniques including psychodynamic, relational and cognitive behavioral, tailored to the needs and goals of the client. I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment which allows the person in therapy to open up and self disclose their deepest thoughts and emotions. I help people become more self aware and empower them to maximize healing, change and achieve personal growth. I work from the Top Down doing crisis intervention to alleviate symptoms and I work from the Bottom Up in order to stop unhealthy patterns and make necessary modifications to avoid pathological cycles. My approach is thoughtful and insight oriented.

GROUP THERAPY
Group therapy is one of the oldest forms of psychotherapy. It goes back to the first half of the
20th century. It has been found to be a highly effective and rewarding experience among group
members.
The literature suggests that group therapy provides its members with a sense of belonging, offers them insight into their problems by listening to others, improves their socialization skills, gives them a sense of support and equips them with different strategies to address their problems. The
members’ symptoms do not only improve from the intervention of the therapist but also from
observing others in the group and receiving feedback from them.
I facilitate most of the groups but it is best to ask who the facilitator of a specific group will be.
I provide an atmosphere of safety and respect and I require an agreement of confidentiality from all participants.
I integrate different treatment approaches including systems therapy, behavioral and relational.
The group session is 90 minutes long.
Groups are not offered at all times at our office.
We require a minimum of 4 members to start a group, and in order to maintain the quality of the
session we keep the maximum to 10 members per group.
We have held the following but are not limited to:
-
Self-Mutilation adolescents group
-
Weight loss group
-
AIDS/HIV group
